Lohas Garden Fair was held. Apart from traditional local cuisines, there were seven large-scale sports and sport-oriented theme cushions. In addition, the south gate of the main hall was open for picture taking. Volunteer guides were also available. During this fair, our staff worked on shifts to facilitate the activity. In the afternoon of the last day before the Lunar New Year, the tiger-shaped headgears were given as presents. On the Chinese New Year’s Day, there were Valentine’s karaoke singing activity and Valentine’s Lantern Light Blessing activity. On the second day of the Lunar New Year, the advertising activity of the U.S. Dodgers took place. In the evening, Kaohsiung County Governor Chiu-hsing Yang was invited to attend the Red Envelop Throwing activity. A wide range of fun activities brought us ultimate joy.

“Dialogue among Sports, Calligraphy, and Traditional Chinese Music” took place. At the site, spring couplets written by calligraphy masters were given. The performance of Kaohsiung City Chinese Orchestra added artistic flair to the stadium. The director and the audiences cooperated in writing “Flying Dragon and Jumping Tiger” to cheer up for Asia Games. Students from Houjin Elementary School and Ping-shan Elementary School took part in assisting twenty calligraphy masters.

Apart from the rented stands, the highlight of the stadium was Asian superstar Rain’s “Legend of Rainism” concert. The opening song “My Way” along with Rain’s impeccable dance overwhelmed his audiences. Rain successfully integrated Michael Jackson’s classical dancing steps with other performances, along with other special fireworks on stage. Rain’s performance after his last visit three years ago took Kaohsiung by storm with his final stop of “Legend of Rainism” tour, leaving a remarkable ending in Taiwan.

The 2010 international soccer tournament (China vs. the Philippines) was held. There were two other performance games—Bei-men Senior High School of Tainan County vs. Hui-wen Senior High School of Taichung County as well as Hongxin of Tainan vs. Lightening Bird of Kaohsiung. On January 17, there was an official performance game—Taipei Physical Education College vs. the Philippines. Amid the tournament, Bunun’s eight-part chorus from Taoyuan Township performed for us.

“New Year Flag Ceremony and Walking around National Stadium” took place. In addition, there were also lucky draw, experiential activities of five sports, and performance groups. At the south gate, New Year’s wishes from visitors, athletes, and audiences were posted on the Longterm 99 Make-a-Wish net.
